Precipitation

Мухаррак is one of the driest cities in the region, with annual rainfall totaling just 59 mm. Most of this precipitation occurs during the cooler months, particularly in January (16.5 mm) and April (16.7 mm). Even during these months, rain is infrequent and usually brief. From June to September, Мухаррак sees virtually no rainfall, with some months recording less than 1 mm.

The lack of rain in Мухарраке means that humidity remains low, even during the hottest months. However, the proximity to the sea can make the heat feel slightly more oppressive, especially in July and August. If you’re visiting during the wetter months, a light rain jacket may come in handy, though you’re unlikely to need it often.

What to pack

When visiting Мухаррак between November and March, pack lightweight, breathable clothing for daytime, along with a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring the city’s historic sites, and a scarf or shawl can be useful for sun protection or covering up in more conservative areas. Sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat are also recommended to shield yourself from the sun.

For trips to Мухаррак from April to October, prioritize loose, long-sleeved clothing made from natural fabrics like cotton or linen to stay cool in the heat. A high-SPF sunscreen is a must, as the sun can be intense even in the early morning. If you plan to spend time outdoors, consider bringing a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. While the city is modern and well-equipped, it’s also wise to carry a small umbrella or a light rain jacket in case of rare showers during the cooler months.
