Weather overview

The weather in Гаага is mild but changeable, typical for the coastal Netherlands. Winters are cool, with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing, while summers remain comfortable without extreme heat. The city’s proximity to the North Sea moderates temperature swings, making Гаага a year-round destination with distinct seasonal rhythms.

From November to February, Гаага sees its coolest and wettest months, with shorter days and frequent overcast skies. Spring arrives gradually, with March and April bringing milder air and longer daylight hours. By June, summer settles in, offering the warmest and sunniest conditions, though rain remains a possibility even in the driest months.

What to pack

For a trip to Гаага in winter, pack layers to adapt to cool, damp conditions. A warm coat, scarf, and waterproof shoes will help against the wind and occasional rain. Gloves are useful for January and February, when temperatures dip closest to freezing. Sunglasses are rarely needed, but an umbrella is a must.

In spring and autumn, Гаага calls for versatile clothing. Light sweaters, a windbreaker, and comfortable walking shoes work well from March to May and September to November. Even in summer, evenings can feel cool, so a light jacket or cardigan is wise. For June through August, pack breathable fabrics, but keep a compact raincoat handy for sudden showers.
