Weather overview

Наска lies in a desert climate, where the sun dominates most of the year. The weather here is consistently warm, with minimal rainfall, making it a destination where you can expect clear skies almost every day. The only exception is February, when brief showers may occur, though they rarely disrupt travel plans.

From May to November, Наска experiences its coolest months, with daytime temperatures still pleasant but nights noticeably cooler. The rest of the year brings warmth, especially from December to March, when the heat can feel intense, particularly around midday. Travelers will find the climate predictable, with little variation in humidity or wind.

Temperature

In Наска, temperatures shift gradually rather than abruptly. The warmest period spans January to March, when daytime highs reach 31–32 °C, while nights remain mild at around 18–19 °C. By April, the heat starts to ease, and by June, the coolest month, daytime temperatures hover around 25 °C, dropping to 11 °C after sunset.

The transition months—April and October—offer a balance, with daytime highs near 27–30 °C and nights around 13–17 °C. If you prefer avoiding extreme heat, visiting Наска between May and September ensures more comfortable conditions, though mornings and evenings may require a light layer.

From May to November, Наска sees virtually no rain, with monthly precipitation close to zero. The brief wet spell in February is followed by a quick return to dry conditions in March, and by April, the skies are clear again. What to pack

For a trip to Наска, packing light layers is key. From December to March, when daytime temperatures peak, bring breathable clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen to shield yourself from the strong desert sun. Evenings can still be warm, so a light jacket or shawl is enough for comfort.

Between May and September, the cooler nights in Наска call for a sweater or fleece, especially if you plan to be outdoors after dark. Daytime remains warm, so pack a mix of short-sleeve shirts and long sleeves for layering. Since rain is rare, waterproof gear is unnecessary, but a scarf or bandana can help with dust on windier days.
