What to pack

For a trip to Амман in winter (December to February), pack layers to handle the cooler temperatures, including a warm jacket for evenings. A waterproof layer is useful for January and February, when rain is most likely. Comfortable walking shoes are essential year-round, but especially in wetter months when streets can be slick.

In spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), lightweight clothing works well for daytime, but a light sweater or scarf is handy for cooler mornings and evenings. Sunglasses and a hat are must-haves for summer (June to August), when the sun is intense. If visiting during Ramadan, modest clothing is appreciated, particularly in more traditional areas of Аммана.
