Weather overview
Джуба lies near the equator, so its weather stays warm year-round, but the seasons split clearly into dry and rainy periods. From January to March, the air is hot and almost rainless, with daytime highs often reaching 34–35 °C. Nights cool slightly to around 21–23 °C, offering a brief respite from the heat.
The rains arrive in April and last through October, bringing higher humidity and frequent downpours. While temperatures ease a little—daytime highs hover around 29–32 °C—the combination of warmth and moisture can feel intense. The heaviest rainfall usually falls in August, when Джуба sees over 100 mm of precipitation. By November, the skies clear again, and the dry season returns.
Temperature
In Джуба, temperatures shift gradually rather than dramatically. The hottest months are February and March, when the mercury climbs to 34–35 °C in the afternoon. Even at night, it rarely drops below 22–23 °C, so air conditioning or good ventilation becomes essential.
From June to September, the heat softens slightly, with daytime highs around 29–31 °C and nights cooling to 20–21 °C. This is the rainy season, so the lower temperatures come with higher humidity. By December, the dry season brings a return to warmer days, though nights remain mild at 21–22 °C.

What to pack
For a trip to Джуба in the dry season—December to March—pack lightweight, breathable clothing to handle the heat. A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen are essential, as the sun is strong even in the cooler months. A light scarf or shawl can help with dust and occasional breezes.
During the rainy season—April to October—waterproof footwear and a compact umbrella or rain jacket will keep you comfortable during sudden downpours. Quick-dry fabrics are useful, as humidity makes drying clothes difficult. Mosquito protection is also wise, especially in the wetter months when standing water is common.
Year-round, Джуба’s temperatures stay warm, so heavy layers aren’t necessary. However, a light sweater or long sleeves can be helpful for cooler evenings, particularly in July and August, when nights dip to around 20 °C.
