Weather overview

Centenario sits in a region where the weather stays mild year-round, but the seasons bring noticeable shifts in rainfall. From November to March, the city experiences its wet season, with frequent showers and lush green landscapes. The driest months—June, July, and August—offer clearer skies and cooler nights, making them a quieter time to visit.

While temperatures in Centenario don’t swing dramatically, the difference between day and night can be striking. Even in the warmest months, evenings often cool down, so layers are useful. The city’s climate is shaped by its Andean foothills location, where altitude tempers the heat and keeps humidity from feeling oppressive.

Temperature

Daytime temperatures in Centenario hover between +21 °C and +25 °C for most of the year, with the warmest readings in July (+25.2 °C) and the coolest in March (+21.6 °C). Nights are consistently cooler, dropping to +7.7 °C in July and rarely below +10 °C even in the wetter months.

The most stable temperatures occur from May to September, when daily highs stay close to +23...+25 °C and nights dip to +8...+10 °C. Travelers should note that while afternoons feel pleasant, mornings and evenings can require a light jacket, especially in the dry season.

What to pack

For trips to Centenario during the wet season (November to March), pack lightweight, quick-drying clothing and a compact rain jacket. Waterproof footwear is useful for navigating muddy paths, especially in January and February. Even in the rain, daytime temperatures stay mild, so layers work well.

In the dry season (June to August), bring a mix of short-sleeve shirts for the day and a warmer layer for cooler nights. A light scarf or sweater is enough for evenings when temperatures drop. For April, May, September, and October, a versatile wardrobe with a rain jacket and breathable fabrics covers both dry spells and occasional showers.
