Weather overview
Манга lies in the heart of Burkina Faso, where the climate splits clearly into dry and rainy seasons. From November to March, the air stays dry and hot, with almost no rain. The hottest stretch arrives in March and April, when daytime temperatures often climb above +39 °C.
The rains begin in May, bringing relief from the heat but also higher humidity. July and August are the wettest months in Манга, with frequent downpours that can last for hours. By October, the rains ease, and the landscape slowly returns to its dry, golden state.
Temperature
In Манга, temperatures shift dramatically between day and night, especially in the dry season. January starts the year with mild nights around +18 °C and warm days near +35 °C. By March, the heat peaks, with afternoons often reaching +39.8 °C and nights staying above +25 °C.
The rainy season cools things slightly, but the air feels heavier. June through September sees daytime highs drop to +30...+33 °C, while nights remain warm at +22...+24 °C. Once the rains retreat in November, the heat builds again, though not as intensely as in spring.

What to pack
For a trip to Манга in the dry season, lightweight, breathable clothing is essential. A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen will help protect against the strong sun, especially in March and April when temperatures soar. A scarf or bandana can be useful for dust during the harmattan winds in December and January.
During the rainy season, a compact umbrella or a light rain jacket is a good idea, along with quick-drying clothes. Mosquito protection is also important, as standing water after rains can increase insect activity. For any time of year, sturdy sandals or closed-toe shoes are practical for walking on uneven terrain.
