Weather overview

Бхаратпур lies in the subtropical zone of Nepal, where the year splits into two distinct halves. From November to April, the weather stays dry and mild, with cool mornings giving way to warm afternoons. This stretch is the most comfortable for exploring the city and nearby Chitwan National Park, as the air remains crisp and the skies clear.

Starting in May, the monsoon arrives, transforming Бхаратпур into a lush, rain-soaked landscape. The heaviest downpours fall between June and September, often in short, intense bursts. While the humidity rises, the greenery flourishes, offering a different kind of beauty—though travel plans may need extra flexibility during these months.

Temperature

In Бхаратпур, temperatures shift gradually, with the coolest months being January and December, when nights dip to around +9 °C and days reach +20–24 °C. By March, the heat builds, peaking in April and May with daytime highs near +35 °C. Evenings stay warm, rarely dropping below +20 °C, making it feel like a true pre-monsoon build-up.

Once the rains begin in June, the mercury stabilizes, hovering between +28–32 °C through September. The humidity makes the air feel heavier, but the frequent showers bring temporary relief. By October, the heat eases, and November marks the return of pleasant +20–28 °C days, ideal for outdoor activities.

The first pre-monsoon showers appear in April, but the real shift comes in May, when rainfall jumps to over 170 mm. The monsoon fully sets in by June, with July and August each bringing around 380 mm of rain—often in short, heavy downpours.

By September, the rains start to taper off, though October can still see over 100 mm of precipitation. The dry season returns in November, with barely any rain until the cycle begins again. If you prefer dry weather, plan your visit to Бхаратпур between November and April, when the skies are reliably clear.

What to pack

For a trip to Бхаратпур in the cooler months of December to February, pack light layers for +20–24 °C days and a warmer jacket for +9–11 °C nights. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, especially if you plan to visit Chitwan National Park, where trails can be dusty or muddy depending on the season.

From March to May, the heat demands breathable, loose-fitting clothing to handle +30–35 °C temperatures. A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen will help shield you from the sun. If traveling during the monsoon (June to September), waterproof footwear and a compact umbrella are essential, along with quick-dry fabrics to stay comfortable in the humidity.

No matter when you visit Бхаратпур, insect repellent is a good idea, particularly if you’re heading into natural areas. A reusable water bottle will also come in handy, as staying hydrated is key in both the dry heat and the muggy monsoon months.
